A poetry slam is a competition at which poets read or recite original work. These performances are given scores by judges. Registered participants should have three readings prepared in the event they make it through all three rounds. There is a 3 minute time limit per round, no props, just the voice and performance of the poet.

This program is meant for those kids whose parents are still doing the majority of the reading. The only difference from the children's program is a little bit smaller minutes requirement for prizes.

Read all the time and remember to record your minutes. They computer will let you know when you are eligible for a prize.

You do not need to review every book you read, just if you choose to do so.

I love dragon books. Droofus the Dragon is a nice dragon who eats grass. He gets caught in a storm and a little boy takes care of him. He helps out the farmers and is real nice. In the end of the book, he even goes to the castle.
